What the screen states mean¶
Each character and the screen itself show signs that tell what is going on, without you having to ask. This page explains what each of them means.
State of each team character¶
- Working — the normal state: the session has a request in hand, doing its work.
- Talking — it is passing some information to another character on the team.
- In a meeting — it is meeting with other sessions (for example, to align joint work).
- Waiting — it is idle, waiting for something to finish before it can continue.
- Waiting for you — it has a decision card open waiting for your answer (see Decision cards).
- Blocked — something keeps the session from moving on by itself; the screen shows a blinking alert next to the character. Most of the time the reason is just that the session is without signal at the moment (a temporary pause) — if the reason shown on the screen is not clear, ask the team before worrying.
- Verifying — the work was delivered and is going through an automatic check before moving on to the next step.
- Leaving — the session is finishing its shift and about to leave the map.
The "Waiting for you" column on the board¶
It is the same sign as the "waiting for you" state above, only seen from the request board: the request stays there until you answer the matching card.
Screen connection indicator¶
In the corner of the screen, an indicator shows whether you are seeing the office in real time:
- Live — everything up to date, receiving events normally.
- Reconnecting — the screen lost the connection for a moment and is trying to come back by itself.
- Password needed — you need to sign in again to keep seeing the screen updated.
- No data for a few minutes — nothing new has arrived for a while; it may just be a general pause, or it is worth checking the connection.
Open question¶
The exact text that shows next to the "blocked" state to explain the reason (for example, when it is just a temporary lack of signal) was not clear enough when reading the code to be worth documenting word for word here — so this page describes only the general meaning of the state, without promising a specific text on the screen.
