Chat: ask your infrastructure¶
The Chat screen is where you ask and Husvord answers by investigating, like an on-call engineer would. It opens from the CHAT link in the team panel, in the office.
How to use it¶
- Write the question in the field at the bottom, the way you would ask someone. Examples:
- «Who was the last person to sign in to the screen?»
- «Why is the Opengist request stuck?»
- «Who approved yesterday's delivery?»
- Click ASK (or Ctrl+Enter). If your approval session is not active, the screen asks for the approval password — each question puts an investigator to work.
- The answer shows up in the chat in a few moments. Meanwhile, the bubble shows «investigating».
What the investigator does (and does not do)¶
- It only reads. It looks at the cards, the requests, the asks, the recorded decisions, the audit history and the sign-ins to the screen. It never creates, changes, approves or deletes anything.
- It answers with proof. Each answer brings, under evidence, what it looked at to reach that conclusion. If the information does not exist, it says it does not know and what would be missing — it does not make things up.
- It does not show secrets. Passwords, access codes and the like never show up in the answer.
Where this is going¶
Today the investigator knows its own building. In each project, the same screen will also read the client's environment — for example, the cloud sign-in logs to answer «why can't this account sign in?» —, always with read-only permission.
